Registering for TXU Energy E-Bill
To begin receiving your bill electronically,
you must register for TXU Energy E-Bill. This service allows
you to receive your bill online and to specify when to pay your bill,
as well as how much to pay on a particular bill.
To register for the service:
- First, click the Sign Up!
button on the TXU Energy E-Bill Logon page to begin the registration process.
- Next, click Start Now! and follow these easy steps to process
for securing your information.
- Then, click Register Now.
- Nominate the Type account you will be registering the service for. You have two choices
Residential accounts or Business accounts. Only one account type can be registered per
enrollment. If you wish to have online service for multiple account types (you want to
service business accounts and residential accounts through the TXU Energy E-Bill service),
you will need to set up two separate enrollments.
- Select if you wish to only "view" your billing information online, or if you want the
full online service of "view and pay" through the TXU Energy E-Bill services.
- Enter your personal User Information. This includes creating a user name and password,
entering your e-mail address, and providing a password hint. You will also need to enter your name, address, phone number(s) and birthdate.
You must be 18 or older to register for TXU Energy E-Bill.
- Next, If you have chosen the full service to view and pay your TXU Energy bills online,
you will need to enter your Banking Information. Enter your Banking Information exactly
as it appears on your bank statement. Note: To provide us with your bank's routing number
and your checking account number, please have a check ready for reference purposes.
Complete the User Information section.
- Click Next.
- Review your Banking and User Information for accuracy.
- Click Edit to make modifications if necessary.
- When finished, click Submit.
- Next you must add the accounts you would like to register
for TXU Energy E-Bill. On the Thank You for Registering page, click TXU Energy account to add a
TXU Energy account.
- Enter your account information and service zip code.
Note: Please have your TXU Energy
paper bill(s) ready to assist you in providing us with your account number(s).
Click on the TXU Energy bill link for assistance.
Service zip code refers to the zip code where the TXU Energy service
is provided.
- Click Update.
- If your TXU Energy account number has the following format: xxx-xxxx-xx-x,
your registration process is now complete.
- If your TXU Energy account number has the following format: xxxxxxxxxx-x,
you will see an Account Owner page. Since multiple people can be associated with this type
of TXU Energy account, you must select the person who is registering for TXU Energy E-Bill.
- Click Submit.
You will receive an email welcoming you to the TXU Energy E-Bill program.
Existing TXU Energy customers will immediately have their bill available online for viewing and payment.
New customers will have their bill available online at the end of their first billing cycle.

To change your password:
- Click the User Profile link in the navigation bar.
- Click the Edit button next to the User Information section.
- The User Information page now appears where you can edit your password.
- After changes are complete, click the Update button at the bottom of the page.
- The User Profile page appears with your updated information.

To change your e-mail address:
- Click the User Profile link in the navigation bar.
- Click the Edit button next to the User Information section.
- The User Information page now appears where you can edit your e-mail address.
- Re-enter your e-mail address to confirm change.
- Click the Update button at the bottom of the page.
- The User Profile page appears with your updated information.
Note: If you have previously turned off paper billing and choose to change your e-mail address, your paper billing will automatically be turned back on.
If you would like to turn paper off for one or more of your accounts after changing your e-mail address, you may edit your Account Information through your User Profile
and elect to turn off your paper bill. This process will include the re-verification of your e-mail address to ensure that you are notified when your bills are ready for
viewing and payment online.

E-Bill currently supports the following browsers:
In order to logon to the TXU Energy E-Bill Application, you must have your browser
security settings properly configured. Configuring your browser settings include enabling cookies
and javascript.

Automatic Cookie Handling
To access security settings for cookies in Internet Explorer 6.0:
- Click on "Tools => Internet Options …"
- Click on the "Privacy" tab
- Set the automatic cookie handling no higher than "Medium High".
If your cookies setting is not configured correctly, you will receive a session timeout
when attempting to logon
Note: It is possible to set a custom browser setting exclusively for the TXU Energy E-Bill site. This requires that the
automatic cookie handling setting be between "Low" and "High". See Automatic Cookie Handling above, then follow
the instructions below:

Viewing Customer Summary
The Customer Summary page displays TXU Energy account
information for accounts you've registered on TXU Energy E-Bill. The information displayed includes
the bill date, amount due, due date, billing cycle and last online payment received on
your most recent bill for each TXU Energy account. It is the first page that
displays when you logon to TXU Energy E-Bill. You can view your detailed bill statement by
clicking on the desired Bill Date. If you have also enrolled for the full service to view and pay, click Pay Bill
for the account you would like to pay.
To view customer summary:
- Click on Customer Summary in the top right navigation menu.

Viewing Account Summary
The Account Summary page
displays for TXU Energy accounts that have the following format: xxxxxxxxxx-x. The Account Summary
page does not display for TXU Energy accounts that have the following format:
xxx-xxxx-xx-x. The Account Summary page summarizes a TXU Energy account. It displays Previous Charges,
Payments and Balance Forward. It repeats the Total Amount Due and Payment Due Date. It also lists the
Service Agreements associated with the TXU Energy account. You can view your detailed bill statement by
clicking on the desired Service Agreement (e.g., Electric Service - Residential). View and Pay
E-Bill users can pay a bill by clicking the 'Pay Bill' button. Note that payments are applied to the account, not to individual Service
Agreements.
To view account summary:
- For accounts that have the following format: xxxxxxxxxx-x, click on
Account Summary in the top right navigation menu. Account Summary is only accessible once
you have selected an account from the Customer Summary. Account summary is not available for
TXU Energy accounts that have the following format: xxx-xxxx-xx-x.

Viewing Bill Details
The way in which you view bill details varies depending upon the type
of account and your account number format (for TXU Energy accounts).
To view bill details for TXU Energy accounts formatted xxx-xxxx-xx-x:
- From the Customer Summary page, click on the
Bill Date of the bill you would like to view.
- Use the scroll bar on the right to view
the bottom portion of your bill.
To view bill details for TXU Energy accounts formatted xxxxxxxxxx-x:
- From the Customer Summary page, click on the
Bill Date of the bill you would like to view.
- From the Account Summary page, click on the
Service Agreement you would like to view.
- Use the scroll bar on the right to view
the bottom portion of your Service Agreement details.

Knowing Your Bill
Account Number - A unique number assigned to your account. If you have multiple locations, you may have multiple account numbers.
Average Bill Balance - The difference between what you have used and what you have paid while participating in the TXU Energy Average Bill Plan Option. Should you discontinue Average Billing, your balance will be applied to your next monthly billing statement.
Balance Forward - The amount you owe from your prior billing statement.
Billing Address - The address to which your billing statement is sent, per your request.
Current Meter Reading - Reading for this billing statement.
Demand Charges - These charges are based on how many kilowatts (kW) of electricity your facility demands at any given point in time.
For example - a typical commercial HVAC system requires or "demands" at least 10 kW of electricity to operate regardless
of how much time it is used for. The energy delivery company typically measures kW in 15 minutes
increments. These charges are only applicable if you 1) have an electric meter that measures demand
and 2) use more than 10kW in demand for any given month of usage.
Distribution Company Charges - Charges for services rendered by your Transmission and Distribution Service Provider at a cost set by that provider.
Due Date - The date your payment is due to arrive at TXU Energy in order to avoid any associated late charges.
Energy Aid (for residential accounts only) - This program helps people who are ill, elderly, disabled or have special needs pay their energy bills. Refer to
Contributing to the Energy Aid funds for more information.
ESI ID - A new identifier (Electric Service Identifier) that the industry uses to uniquely identify your electric service point.
kWh Used with Multiplier - Amount of electricity used during this billing period.
kWh (Kilowatt-hour) - The basic unit of electric energy for which customers are charged.
Late Payment - A 5% late charge on the balance forward.

Meter (Meter Number) - The number identifying the meter.
Meter Reading Types

Actual - A reading by the Transmission and Distribution Service Provider.
Adjusted - Usage determined from an actual reading close to the billing date.
Estimated - Consumption based on the weather and your past energy use.

Monthly Base Charge - Monthly fee to cover costs of billing, meter reading, equipment, administration and customer care.
Mult (Multiplier) - The factor used to adjust the meter reading to reflect actual consumption.
On Peak kW - This is the highest recorded kW (Demand) measurement taken during the months of June through September in the 12-months period ended with the current month.
Off Peak kW - This refers measurement of kW (Demand) outside the "on-peak" months of June through September.
Payments - The total amount of payments TXU Energy has received up to the Statement Date.
Previous Charges - The total amount due from your prior billing statement.
Previous Meter Reading - Meter reading for the prior billing statement.
Rate - Identifies your account's rate plan.
Statement Date - The date the billing statement was generated.
Total Amount Due - Total amount that is due to TXU Energy.
Total Current Charges - Total of all charges during the current billing period.
Transmission and Distribution Service Provider - The utility that owns or operates the equipment or facilities to transmit or distribute electricity to your location.

Viewing Billing History
Billing History enables you to view details for up to
13 months of bills for each account registered on TXU Energy E-Bill. The way in which you view billing history varies depending upon the type
of account and your account number format (for TXU Energy accounts).
To view billing history for TXU Energy accounts formatted xxx-xxxx-xx-x:
- Click the Billing History tab (accessible once you've selected
an account from the Customer Summary page).
- Billing History displays the bill date, average temperature for the month
(electric), average daily cost, energy usage (electric),
and the total charges.
- Click on the Bill Date to view the bill details for a particular
bill.
- Use the scroll bar on the right to view
the bottom portion of your billing history.
To view bill details for TXU Energy accounts formatted xxxxxxxxxx-x:
- Click the Billing History tab (accessible once you've selected
an account from the Customer Summary page).
- Billing History displays the account number, bill date and
total charges. For each Service Agreement listed, Billing History displays the Service
Agreement name and average daily cost associated with that Service Agreement.
- Click on the Bill Date to view the Account Summary for a
particular bill.
- Click on the Service Agreement name (e.g., Electric Service
- Residential) to view the Service Agreement details.
- Use the scroll bar on the right to view
the bottom portion of your Service Agreement details.

Paying Your Bill (for view and pay service only)
The Pay Bill page allows you to schedule
a payment at any time for all of your TXU Energy accounts.
Multiple payments may be scheduled at one time. Payments can be scheduled
for up to six months in advance. You can also enter different payment amounts,
larger or smaller than the amount due on your statement.
To schedule a payment:
- From the Customer Summary page, click on the Pay Bill
button for the account you would like to pay.
- Enter the Payment Date and Amount to Pay if you
wish to schedule a different payment from the default values. Click on the
Calendar for assistance with Payment Date selection.
- Click Submit. The Payment Confirmation page displays
your confirmation number (print page if desired).
- Click on the Payment History link to verify the payment
has been scheduled and the confirmation number is correct.
Note: We recommend choosing a Payment Date at least 5 days prior to the
Due Date to guarantee prompt payments. Modifications to your scheduled payment
can be made until 11:59 PM Central Standard Time, the day before the scheduled payment date.
Scheduled payments may take up to 5 business days to process.

Viewing Payment History
The Payment History page displays a
list of online payments made within the last 13 months. All payments are displayed
in date order with most recent payment dates listed last.
The list can be customized by the scheduled date and/or status. The payment
list shows the payment's status, scheduled payment date, amount of payment and confirmation
number. Scheduled payments can be modified or deleted.
Note: The payment history reflects online payments made since your
registration with TXU Energy E-Bill. Payment history does not display
payments mailed to TXU Energy or paid by alternative methods.
To view payment history:
- From the Customer Summary page, click on the desired
Bill Date of the bill you would like to view.
- Click on the Payment History tab found in the menu bar.
- Select All Dates or enter specific date parameters.
- Click Submit.

The scheduled payment has been sent to the bank for processing. |
Paid |
The payment has been received by TXU Energy. |
Cancelled |
Payment processing was cancelled by the user. |
Failed |
The payment was unable to be processed as specified. Please refer to the Contact Us page and call Customer Service for assistance. |
Returned |
The bank was unable to process the payment. Please refer to the Contact Us page and call Customer Service for assistance. |

Modifying a Payment (for view and pay service only)
Changes to a payment amount or date can be made until 11:59 PM
Central Standard Time, the day before the scheduled payment date.
To modify a payment:
- From the Customer Summary page, click on the desired
Bill Date of the bill you would like to view.
- Click on the Payment History tab.
- Click Edit to the right of the scheduled
payment you would like to modify.
Note: Only payments with a status of scheduled
can be modified or deleted.
- Enter the new Payment Date and Amount to Pay you wish
to schedule. Click on the Calendar for assistance with Payment Date selection.
Note: To guarantee prompt payments, a Payment
Date of at least 5 days prior to the Due Date is recommended.
- Click Submit. The Payment Confirmation page displays
with a confirmation number.
- Click on the Payment History link to verify the payment has
been scheduled and the confirmation number is correct.

Deleting a Payment (for view and pay service only)
You can delete/cancel a scheduled payment until 11:59 PM Central Standard Time,
the day before the scheduled payment date.
To delete a payment:
- From the Customer Summary page, click on the desired
Bill Date for the bill you would like to view.
- Click on the Payment History tab.
- Click Edit to the right of the payment
you would like to delete.
Note: Only payments with a status of scheduled
can be modified or deleted.
- Verify displayed payment is the transaction to be deleted.
- Click Delete. Payment Confirmation page displays with
message noting that the transaction has been deleted.
- Click on the Payment History link to verify payment was deleted.

Modifying Your User Profile
Your User Profile allows you to modify your
account information as well as your user and banking information entered
during initial registration.
To add/delete accounts:
- Click on User Profile in the top right navigation menu.
- Click the Edit button next to TXU Energy
within the Account Information section. The Account Information page for TXU Energy
accounts will display with information you previously submitted.
- Click the checkbox to the right of account
numbers to be deleted. Note that clicking the checkbox will remove an account from TXU Energy E-Bill,
it will not delete the actual account.
- Enter new account numbers in the appropriate section (New Accounts).
- Click Update. The User Profile page will display
the updated information you submitted.
- Review the information for accuracy.
- Repeat steps for additional changes if necessary.
Note:
Deleting all accounts will not
deactivate your TXU Energy E-Bill service or disconnect your TXU
Energy service. Please refer to the " Canceling Your TXU Energy E-Bill"
help topic for information about deactivation of your TXU Energy E-Bill service. If you would like to
disconnect your TXU Energy service, please call the appropriate customer service
number located on the Contact Us page.

Choose to Turn Off Paper Bill
- Go to your User Profile.
Note: You may also choose to turn off your paper bill for a single account from the Bill Detail page for that account.
- Click on the Edit button to modify your Account Information. (Paper status indicated on the User Profile should be "On")
- Deselect the Paper Bill checkbox on accounts for which you would like to have paper turned off. Click Submit.
- Agree to the Paper Statement Agreement and enter your initials as your electronic signature.
- Review your registered email address for accuracy. Edit if needed.
- Click Submit to complete your request for paper bill turn off.
An email will be sent to your email address at this time. In order to complete the paper turn off process:
- Open your email.
- Click on the link provided OR copy and paste the URL provided into your browser.
- Once the page has loaded, verify that the unique identification number provided to you in the email has been entered in the input field.
Note: If your unique identification number does not prepopulate on the email verification page, you will need to copy and paste it from the email sent to you.
- Click Submit. You will now be presented with a confirmation page indicating the success or failure of your request.

You may not be eligible to turn off your paper bill for one of the following reasons:
- You live in a service area where this feature is not yet available.
- Your credit status requires that you pay only by cash. Cash-only customers are not eligible since cash payments cannot be made online.
- You have not signed up for online payment with E-Bill. Customers who have signed up only to view their bills may not turn off paper billing. If you would like to turn off paper, please add your banking information to your E-Bill User Profile. *You may turn off paper without signing up for online payment if you are signed up for automatic bank draft.
- You have elected to receive your bills in Spanish. (Spanish language online presentment is not currently available)
Turning Paper Bill Back On
- Go to your User Profile.
Note: You may also choose to turn on your paper bill for a single account from the Bill Detail page for that account.
- Click on the Edit button to modify your Account Information. (Paper status indicated on the User Profile should be "Off")
- Select the Paper Bill checkbox on accounts for which you would like to have paper turned on. Click Submit.
- Paper bills for selected accounts have now been turned on.
To modify user information and / or banking information:
- Click on User Profile in the top right navigation menu.
- Click Edit within the User Information section.
- Enter user information (e.g., User Name, Password, e-mail, password hint)
if necessary.
- Click Update. The User Profile page will display
the updated information you submitted.
- Click Edit within the Banking Information section.
The Banking Information page will display information you previously submitted.
- Enter new bank ABA Routing Number and checking Account
Number (refer to your paper check).
- Review the information for accuracy.
- Repeat steps for additional changes if necessary.
- Changes will appear on the User Profile page.
Note: Only one bank account number can be used at a time. If you change your account number, all existing scheduled payments and future
payments will use this new account number to process payments. Payments that have begun processing prior to update of bank account information
will retain the original account number.
Contributing to the Energy Aid funds (for residential electric accounts)
Energy Aid is a charitable fund that helps the elderly, ill
disabled and others in financial need get temporary assistance
with their electric bill. Made possible through the generous
donations of TXU Energy customers and employees, the Energy Aid
fund provides members of your community the means to pay an electric
bill they could otherwise not afford. Contributions to Energy Aid
are tax-deductible and are not subject to local taxes or other charges.
To make an Energy Aid contribution:
- From the Pay Bill, Payment Confirmation, Account Summary, or Bill Detail page, click on the Find out more link in the Make Someone's Life Brighter paragraph.
- Enter the Contribution Date and Amount you wish to contribute to Energy Aid. Click on the Calendar for assistance with Payment Date selection.
- Click Submit. The Energy Aid Confirmation page displays your confirmation number (print page if desired).
- Click on the Payment History link to verify the contribution has been scheduled and the confirmation number is correct.
Deactivate Your TXU Energy E-Bill Service
You may cancel your TXU Energy E-Bill Service by deactivating your account.
By deactivating, you will no longer have access to any information on the TXU Energy E-Bill site.
To deactivate your service:
- Click on User Profile in the top right navigation menu.
- Review the information provided under the Deactivate Service section.
- Click Deactivate if you wish to do so.
- Review the information and click the appropriate action button.
Note: By deactivating your service, you will no longer receive
your TXU Energy bill online. All scheduled payments will be cancelled at
this time. If your current month's payment has not been processed, please send a check
payable to TXU Energy.
